Our story

In mid-2018, after conversations between professors and students at UACSA-UFRPE, an interest arose in developing a project of a purely electric vehicle for research and development of new technologies aimed at electric mobility, which would corroborate with the qualification of students and promote the interaction between the local community and the students and professors of the various engineering departments at UACSA-UFRPE.

In this context, from the interest of two students of the Electrical Engineering course in the competitions of SAE Brasil, Antonio B. Junior and Romário F. Lucena, and the support of Prof. Marcel A. Araújo, the formation of the EVolt Racing UFRPE team began.

The project quickly gained the support of other professors from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering courses who, together with the pioneering students, carried out a technical visit to the UFPB Formula E team, whose contact and partnership was essential for defining the first activities of the UFRPE team.

Later, in a joint action of the professors of the courses of Electrical, Electronics, Mechanics and Materials of UACSA-UFRPE, such interests were  formalized and became a project of the University, thus officially emerging the EVolt Racing UFRPE team.

Who we are

The EVolt Racing UFRPE team, formed by students from the areas of Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical and Materials Engineering at UACSA-UFRPE, aims to promote research, development and technological innovation in the context of electric mobility. technology among university students, project collaborators and the local community through the conception of a prototype of an electric vehicle with regionally developed technology, which will be structured for participation in Formula SAE competitions.

Our project is part of the context of the growing demand for the development and nationalization of technologies applied to the electric automotive industry, and for the training of engineers and technicians specialized in electric mobility.

We seek to contribute to the development of ecologically less aggressive and more energy efficient technologies for urban mobility, which favor the training of qualified professionals better prepared for the current job market and the implementation of electric mobility in Brazil, especially in the Northeast.
